Reminds me of the Maritime Heritage Festival of the third weekend in August! Transport through time to get a wee bit of history what life was like on a ship!
Wed Jan 3rd,"Morning, MaryLu."Wow ... this is an old one ! Love the dated authenticity of it !!! Very nice !Thanks for sharing.Hope all is well.Take care, and, God Bless,In Him, Brenda Hurley
Looks like pirates are sacking New York! ;-)
Boy! A lot of thoughts go through my head when I look at this picture. The artist did a great job capturing the imagination. Thanks for sharing.
Are those the World Trade Centers in the background? If so, this picture makes me sad.
Hello everyone! I have no idea where this place is. It does look like New York, doesn't it? I just thought it was cool to have the old and the new right there in the same picture. Yikes. I'm sorry if the picture upset anywone. I didn't realize those were the twin towers. I immediately thought of a cool time travel story when I saw it! And yes.. traveling through town to sack New York! That Maritime Heritage Festival sounds like mine kind of event, Tracy!Hugs all!
This is really cool. I love it! I like the old ships with the backdrop of some modern city. . . I think it's New York City. Awesome!Heather
Oh, this looks like something that could have been in the movie "Kate & Leopold" :) :) :) Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather :)
Kate and Leopold.. one of my favorite movies!!
LOVE it!And this is a painting?I have a trouble with painting...I can't paint a page one color and have it be nice! No wonder artists get paid so much! =DI just saw Kate and Leopold this summer. It was cute. I love the part when she tells him off about having to push the toast down twice. lolOh really. I didn't notice it was NY. When I was little, my aunt gave me post cards. They were so beautiful, I loved them. Huge bright lights on two tall buildings standing next to each other. I would sit and stare at them. Tape them to the wall. Imagine a life involving them. I was a little girl...all my creativity was used up then. The postcard pictures were taken and given to me before 9/11. It was weird looking at those post cards again...-Rebekkah xD
Yes, Rebekkah, I believe this is a painting. And yes, good painters deserve their pay. I used to oil paint and it's not easy!
Did you paint ships too?
I painted mostly ocean scenes, although I do have one ship.. I wasn't very good. LOL
