I think of this verse often. Yes, we like our material 'treasures' but we should remember they are exactly that -material and not worth a plug nickel in the scheme of God's glory and the treasure of his love.
When I read this verse it brought back memories of almost 30 years ago. I was a brand new follower of Jesus Christ and I was sitting in work(bank) processing Checks etc through a computerized machine and a check with that very same verse came by. As I read the verse, another person came around checking to see if I wanted to play the office pool. I hesitated as the thought came to me--" If a won the pool I could really put it to a good use". I looked at that check and that verse and knew I could not play that $1.00 in that pool. I was convicted and Blessed at the same time. I know it was just a dollar, and I was going through a hard time in my life. And He was showing me in this simple way--"Trust Me--I will see you have all you need."And He did!!! He walked with me through that difficult valley and into the sunlight of His Blessings.
What a lovely story, Elsie! And a great victory for one so new in the Lord. He ALWAYS provides. I've walked with Him 25 years and He's never let me down. As long as I seek Him with all my heart. :-)
